Red dead redemption 2 won't install from disk on Xbox. Issue. I went to reinstall rdr2 on my series X and it gets to about 8% and then completely stops and won't go any further. I've tried installing from the 2nd disk first I've tried swapping disks all sorts.
Download the Xbox app to your phone. Search the game. Install to your Xbox via the app. The disk might still be in decent enough shape to work as copy protection. -Found on Gamefaqs. This worked for me.
The solution is to press the menu button and pick 'Try Installing Again'. :) So many awful, weird UI choices in the user experience like this. Annoyingly, when installing a multi-disc game, you'll

Dec 29, 2018. #1. Hi guys, I've been attempting to install RDR2 for days now & it just seems to get stuck at 2% on disc one, & goes no further. I've shutdown my Xbox one several times, cancelled the install & started again to no avail.
If you're playing the game on Xbox One and you're experiencing an issue with the second disc, try unplugging the power cord from the console (once you shut the console off) and plugging it
I transferred my game and it's save from my Xbox One to my Xbox Series X via Network transfer. When I launch RDR2 it loads fine, go to play story mode and it starts to load that and then after 30-40 seconds Alert! Unable to connect to Rockstar game services at this time. Please try again later. [Error: 0x10000117]
RDR 2 Wont install on Xbox One I got the game the day it came out l, yesterday, and when I inserted Disc 1, it says installation started, then installation stopped not even a second after.. I have tried clearing my local data, I have roughly 150gb free on my hard drive, and I've hard reset my console about 4 times.
Yes No {Parity} Replied on October 27, 2018 Report abuse I have found that doing the hard reset EXACTLY like this helps with may issues. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
